Tearing up Carpet

So we bought this old 1940's house. We have been here for 4 months now. When we bought the house I knew it would have hardwood floors under the carpet. How I knew I can't really tell ya but I just had that feeling. We had this terrible pink carpet in the living room, hall way and master bedroom. In Carters room oldly enough there was this really ugly blue carpet. But hey blue matched his room. Everyone and there brother told us do not take that carpet up if there is hard wood floors under it they would be in bad condition. We did not listen. We have been slowly tearing up all the carpet in our house over the last week or so. We did the living room 1st its not finished old hard wood floors but in not to bad of condition. Next was the hallway they were the same as the living room except with tons of spills of white paint on them. Nothing to terrible as it will come off when we sand them down. Next came Carters room. I did it my self, I took the carpet up and then the carpet pad and bamb completely finished awesome looking hard wood floor. I love it!!!!! I am very sick of taking up all this carpet but man is the end going to be so worth it just looking at Carters room I am so excited to finish the whole house. The kitchen and bathroom doesn't have hardwood under it but thats ok we plan to tile them anyways. So much to do so little time (oh and money too!) Well though I would show you what Carters room looks like now. I forgot to take a picture before the nasty carpet came up but oh well.

Weekend Recap

We had a busy weekend, so I didn't have any time to blog but Carter is happily playing in his exercauser right now so I might have enough time to update.

So on Friday, we went over to Jake and P's house we brought Carters super duper fancy swing there for them. Carter only used it for maybe 2 months after that he hated the thing. So much for spending almost $200 on a swing he didn't really like. We also brought over all of his old clothes he doesn't fit it to. I marked them all so I am hoping to get most of them back. So we played with Croix for a little bit and then went home.

Saturday, Jayme called and asked if I would watch Hailey for a little bit. Hailey is my God daughter, whom Jim and I had a huge hand in raising. She is 2 1/2 now. Hailey, Carter and I went over to Jake and P's house and brought her the extra nursing pillow I never even used. It seems like it is working great for her. We then went to Walmart to try and pick up the pictures they said were in that wern't grrr. We went to Subway to eat where Hailey wouldn't eat her sub she just had to have. Well I stand corrected she ate the pickels and olives off of it but thats all.
We then went to my aunt and uncles house where Jim was helping put new windows in there house. Haileys dad Nathen was also there helping put windows in so thats where I got rid of Hailey. After all the windows were in we went to Jake and P's and had dinner with them. And showed them the hand dandy trick of pointing the pee pee down when putting diapers on little boys, I think they went to atleat 10 outfits when we were there on Friday.

Sunday was Carter's aunt Jenny's wedding shower. Carter and I attended and he had fun with all the girls. Here are some pictures of the day.

Baptism

Well we completed the classes last night they weren't to bad at all at least its finally done. His baptism is scheduled for September 28th after the 10 am mass. We will have lunch here after the baptism.

My mom just found the cutest thing for him to wear for the baptism and if it comes in time he will wear it for his aunt Jenny's wedding too! Its going to be so freaking cute on him!!!!!

Carrots

Just some random pictures from the last few days

Carter had his 1st bite of Carrots. We are trying to hold off on solids until 6 months but we give him some here and there. He does get cereal almost every night though.

He really loved the carrots!
He just found his toes yesterday and now is constantly playing with them. Look at him sitting!
My boy is cute even when he is crabby!

Its been awhile

Well Its been awhile the last few days have been crazy busy.

On Sunday we went to the zoo, the crazy wait for parking should have warned us that there were way to many people in there but we had already driven for 45 mins to get there we at least had to go in. So after 20 or so mins looking for a parking spot we went in. We wernt there vary long as it was crazy busy and just so hot out.

A long car ride to the zoo really tired a baby out.
Mommy's favorite animal at the zoo the apes! (well mommy just loves all the monkeys!)
Mommy and Carter in the butterfly exibit.

This is Carter at the zoo when he was about 2 weeks old.
And this is at 4 1/2 months old. He really has grown.

After the zoo we dropped in at grandma and grandpa's house. They are busy getting ready for aunt Jenny's weeding which is in 3 weeks! I don't think they realised that having an at home wedding is much more work then the whole church wedding. I tried to worn them all but they just didn't listen lol.
Carter in his swing at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

Monday mommy stayed home, nothing exciting happened at all. Thats always a nice thing though.

Tuesday Carter and I went to visit Croix in the hospital, he was doing better but then took another turn down. He got jaudice and a staff infection. He was finally able to be in the room with P and Jake though so thats awesome. He had to stay in his little tanning bed but at least they could see them as so could there visitors. We brought them some premie clothes since Croix is so tiny. We finally asked Jake to be Carters god father and he accepted the challenge. Anyways Croix should be home with his Mommy and Daddy by tonight. I am sure we will stop and see him this weekend.

Tuesday night we ripped out this gawd aful carpet in our living room. It was pink and kind of bright pink. The hardwood floors underneath the carpet actually look pritty good. I can't wait to sand and refinish them then they will look awesome. We have to rip out the carpet in the hallway and in Carters room yet but they will probably be done this weekend. We are leaving Carters room harwood but getting a big area rug to go in there. Jim doesn't like this idea but I don't really care I want it this way lol. Some times I just have to win, it doesn't happen often. Our room we are going to live with the pink carpet for awhile and when we get around to it we will replace the carpet an other color but pink lol. Who puts pink carpet all over a house, not to mention over perfectly good old hardwood floors. Having hard wood floors has always been a dream of mine and now I have it its just awesome! Its going to be some much eaiser to clean and carpet is no fun with 3 shedding dogs!

Tomorrow (Thursday) Daddy and I have to attend the class to get Carter baptised. If it were up to me I guess he wouldn't be baptised but I am doing it for Jim. I don't beleive in God so its going to be hard going to these classes and faking it. Oh well just something I have to do. Grandma Kathy is going to be watching Carter while we are at these classes. It sucks being away from my baby. It wouldn't be so bad if he wern't brestfed but being a booby boy leaving him is so much harder. I am going to try and feed him right before we leave and hopefully I can get him before his next meal.

Croix Is Here

Finally P poped that baby out. A new friend for Carter has entered this world. We went and seen him yesterday at the hospital. He is really early and small so he has to stay in the nursery. He was born at 1 something am weight 5lbs 5 oz and 19 1/4 long. He is a real cutie! I love the name they picked too! He has to stay in the hospital for a week or so but we can't wait to actually hold him when he finally comes home.

Going Camping

We are going camping for the 1st time with Carter. We take an trip to Yogi Bear Camp Ground in Warrens Wisconsin every year and this will be the 1st and possibly the only one for Carter. The place is shutting down I guess going in to bankrupt. This is so sad to me as I think I have been going there since I was like 5. Hopefully some one buys it so that Carter can enjoy it growing up just like I have. It looks nothing like it did when I was young it was fun then but it is like 10 times better now!
Here are some picture of the place!

The indoor water parkOne of the many out door water parks

Another out door water parkAnd yet another outdoor water park.

And we are getting one of these to ride around in (Jim's really excited about this!)

Anyways We are going with Amber, Andy and Charlie. Amber is my cousin, Andy is Jims bestfriend and Charlie is there little girl who is almost 9 months old. Its going to be so much fun I can't wait. I am trying to think of everything we are going to need to go and the list in my head just keeps growing and growing. We are both tent camping and I think we are going to take my van and get a trailor for it. With 2 babies we are going to need a lot of stuff.

For Carter I plan on brining
  • The pack and play
  • 2 chairs
  • his bouncy thing
  • bibs
  • food
  • shampoo
  • towels
  • stroller
  • wagon (I am sure Jim wants to bring it)
  • tons of blankets
  • tons of clothes (short sleve long sleve shorts pants)
  • a package of diapers
  • a package of wipes
  • might pack some bottels
  • 1st aid kit
  • Lots of toys
  • Sunscreen
For All of Us
  • the tent
  • a tarp
  • chairs
  • wood
  • grill
  • 3 days of food and snacks
  • plates cups utensils pots and pans
  • aluminam foil
  • bug spray (even though there usually isn't many bugs)
  • Beer
  • water
  • blankets
  • pillow
  • air mattress (we need a new one)
  • clothes
  • Deck of cards
  • lantern
I am sure there are tons more things I just can't think of them right now, finally some of my mental list is written down at least some where. Anyways we are going September 5-7tth and I am so excited. Jim is even taking Friday off of work, Jim never takes off work. But he knows in order to get a golf cart you have to be there right away because they are 1st come 1st serve. So we have made plans to pack everything up Thursday night wake up Friday morning and just go. Its a 3 1/2 hour drive so we hope to be there around noon. I guess we will see how the babies do driving that far but it should not be to bad.

Well my brownies are done in the oven and Carter is going to wake up from his nap soon so I must end this post for today!

Up Coming Baptism

Well we have finally got out buts in gear and scheduled the classes for the baptism. I can't wait for it to be over its been hanging over my head for 4 1/2 months now. Jim and I can never agree on anything but I actually got my way this time. We don't know the day yet, we have to take the classes and then schedual the actual day after the classes are done. I am in the processes of getting everything ready anyways. Here are the invitations, I am going to make them though and not buy them as they are really expensive.
This basically the out fit we are going to use. Well maybe, if Carter still fits in to the familys gown we have then he will use that. Carter is a big baby and a little bit older then most babies when they get baptised so I really don't thi
The party will be held out our house after Church. I know our house is small but its only a couple blocks away from the church so it only makes sense to do it that way. Hopefully it will be a nice day out and we can all be out side for it.

Now here is where Jim and I didn't agree but we have finally chosen the godparents. When I talked to the decon at the church he told me there has to be a male and female and that one of them has to be Christian. Ok well we are ok with that because all of our choices would work. So then I asked if we could have 4, because we can't decided he told me no only 2. So we were basically forced to make a descision. Well we couldn't and it turned in to a mini fight that I won!!!! I never win fights with him lol. Jake, Jim's bestfriend is going to be the god father, this was where the fight was I wanted Jake and he wanted Andy. Andy can have the next baby. And for the god mother there was no fight we both knew who it was going to be. Carters god mother will be his Aunt Becky. Becky wasn't in our wedding so we knew she had to be Carter godmother. We do plan on having more kids so we can include every one we want in the futer.

Ok on to the more kids thing. Jim and I were talking the other night, I have always knowen Jim wants 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. This doesn't really surprise me as he is the oldest of 5. I am an only child so having 4 kids is kind of daughting to me. But the other night he uped it to 5 or 6 kids. Holy cow I don't think so I this 3 is the perfect number 4 is a huge maybe. But I think we are both ready to try for #2 I want my little girl :) I know Carter is only 4 1/2 months old but I don't want to wait for ever. And what the harm of trying it took 4 years to have Carter it could take even longer for the next one.

The Weekend Recap

Well Its was a really busy weekend. I don't usually have much time for blogging on weekends. Carter got really spoiled this weekend and he got tons of new stuff.

On Friday Grandma and I went to a couple of Garage Sales, I picked out a couple pairs of gap jeans, a gap sweat shirt, an old navy sweat shirt and a super cute pair of jammies for Carter. They are all 18-24 months so it will be awhile before he can use them but not to long at the rate he is growing. Then we found this cool desk and chair for Carter again he wont be able to use it for a long long time but it was cheap and almost new!

The desk we picked up for Carter at the garage sale.We also got a tool box for him just filled with little tools and and stuff it will be super cute next to daddys tool box.
Friday night Cater went to the movies for the 1st time. We went to the drive in movie theater. It was fun we cooked our food and watched only the 1st movie and left. We didn't want to stay to late because we have to get up really early in the morning.

Saturday we puts around for awhile. Did a whole lot of nothing all afternoon. Saturday night we went to Jake's dad's house. P still has that baby inside of her and she is on bed rest so we went to play cards with them. We use to play cards together all of the time. Daddy's old room mate Jeff was also there it was nice seening him too as we havn't seen him since Carter was a month old. Jakes parents house is all set up for Jake and P's baby so they had a pack and play we set up for Carter to sleep in and he slept in it wonderfully while we played cards. As for P they are taking her off all medications on Tueday and she will have the baby soon after that. We can't wait we are so excited to meet Carters new friend. They are thinking about the name Croix and I think its really cute and I really hope they go with it. Since she has gestational diabetes she hasn't been able to eat anything she really wants this whole pregnancy so I plan on baking her a huge cake and having it at there house before they come home from the hospital!

Sunday was the church auction. Cater got spolied again! While we were out garage saling on friday I had mentioned to my mom and Carter needs one of thoes red and yellow cars. Well the auction had 2 of them. We wanted both of them, we bid on the 1st one and got it for 20, the second one got up to 30 and my mom let it go. She wanted one for her house and one for ours, but oh well I am sure we will find another one at a garage sale.

Here is a picture of what Carter's new ride looks like.
He also got a Step 2 Easel and some little wagon thing. When we were leaving the auction it was about 1/2 way done and there was this really cool log bed that I liked it was twin size and perfect for Carter when he gets out of the crib and we didn't plan on using a toddler bed. Anyways Grandpa is the one who basically puts the whole church auction together so he has to stay till the end. I mention to him that if the bed didn't go for much that we wanted it. Well we came home last night and it was there at our door. I was looking on line and a twin size log bed goes form $659.00. Grandpa Ron got it at the auction for $50. I am not sure its its used or not but I don't think it is it looks bran new!

Here is a picture of the bed we got Carter. After the auction we went to my aunt Patty and Uncle Rogers house. They were making chicken for dinner so we all ate there. Gina, Ken and Conrad showed up Patty was watching there dog for them while they were out of town so they were coming to get Buster, they stayed and ate dinner also. My uncle Jim and aunt Mellisa also came for dinner. And my Grandma Mary was there too. We just talked and ate dinner and left. Carter was so tired being out in that fresh air all day long really tired a boy (and his mommy) out!

Sleeping in his crib

Nothing much new here. I might be taking care of an 11 week old soon, I can't wait it will be fun having some one for Carter to play with during the day. I meet the mom and baby tomorrow for a meet and greet.

I laid Carter down in his crib last night he was wide awake but it was past his bed time and I had desert that had to come out of oven. So I laid him in there and he fell asleep. He slept there until he woke up at 3:30 this morning. Talk about nervous mommy Carter has always slept right next to me in his pack in play right next to my side of the bed, having him in his own room was hard. It did take me a long long time to fall asleep having him in there. Then this morning I laid him in there again for his morning nap and again he fell asleep YAY. This is exciting Carter is very use to nursing to sleep and its kind of annoying I have always wanted him to fall asleep on his own!

Just thought I would share some pictures of Carter this morning he was just a happy little boy.

This is Carter first thing this morning minutes after he work up he is always such a happy boy I love it!And Carter with his puppies!

A really busy weekend

Well I have not updated since Friday we have sure had a busy weekend, but it was fun none the less.

Friday-
My uncle Bill who lives 4 or so hours away came over to meet Carter for the 1st time. (that and see our new house) He took a tour of the house and played with Carter for awhile and then we went out to eat. Not that great of an idea with a 4 month old. Right when we got to the resturant Carter pooped and it smelled bad, so dad ran home to change him we were only 2 blocks from our house so we didn't bring the diaper bag, go figure that we would need it. Jim got back and Carter didn't want us to sit down and eat so I had to hold him so he could watch out the window and entertain him self. He loves to see outside. We left right after we finished eating because he was getting really crabby.

Saturday-
We had a family reunion to go to which was fun. Carter had a blast seeing all of his cousin, it was at a park right next to a really nice trout farm. Here are some of our pictures from the day.

Carter with Daddy, if you look in the water you can see all the fish in the water it was really kind of cool. Carters cousin Maalik caught 2 huge fish out of there.

Carter and Daddy walking down to the river landing thing.

Carter and Mommy hanging out on the grass.

The whole family. We really don't have many of family shots!
Carter and I hanging out next to the water. This is the 1st time I have used a carrier with Carter. Not sure if I like it or not man he is a heavy 18lbs!

Daddy and Carter hanging out by the flowers.
Carter is sleeing in his car seat that hooks up to the waygon daddy made his. Pulling Carter is his big cousin Konrad. Konrad is 1 1/2 years old and weighs just a tiny bit more then Carter but he had a blast pulling Carter around in his wagon. I can't weight to show the boys this picture when they grow up.
After we left the family reunion we all went to Walmart to pick up dinner and a movie. You can't really take a 4 month old to the thearter so we picked up a movie for home. I made ribs for dinner which I have never made before and man they turned out great! It was a good thing we picked up a movie though because in the middle of making dinner the whole towns cable went out and our tv turn in to fuzz. I looked 1/2 way through the movie and the cable was back on. I called my grandma and asked hers if hers was out and she said it was and that it happens quit often.

Sunday-
My bestfriend Shawn was home for the weekend. He is stationed in Virgina with the Navy. I havn't seen him in like 5 years. We drove 2 hours to see him and picked up my cousin Jenny on the way (she is also friends with him) It was awesome to see him and I had missed him a lot. We hung out and talked for about an hour. I wish we had more time but we had to get to my inlaws.

We spent the evening at my inlaws where Carter got so spolied as he always does there. He gets so much attention. He got held and played with so much his 3 aunts were there to love and spoil him up tons. Grandpa also held and played him him for awhile. Grandma hurt her self some how so she isn't able to pick him up but she did play with him a lot. Aunt Becky even fed him his ceral tonight.
(doesn't he look like such a big boy!)
Well on the way home he screamed the entire time. He always screams all the way home when we leave there house and Jim and I just can not figure out why. Maybe he is over sitmulated or somthing. I know he was really wiped out from this whole weekend. He got home and ate and went right to sleep and thats where he is now and were I am also headed.

1.8.08

Baby friends

Carter's day today was exciting he did lots of fun things. Well were to start.
He slept great last night at got up around 8:30 this morning. We ran to the gas station (2 blocks away) right away. I wanted a breakfast pizza and they don't usually have them late in the morning. So we get home and right when we walked in the door daddy called. He wanted to know if Jake had gotten a hold of me. Hmm no I was not home for a whole 5 mins. He goes on to tell me that P (Priscilla) is in labor at the hospital and had been there since 11 last night and Jake wanted to know if I would go let there dog Puggy out. So Jake called and I talked to him for awhile and got the scop on P. So Carter took his nap and then we were off to let Puggy out. We drove to New Richmond to there house and let Puggy out of his kennel and put him out side it was raining and he wouldn't go to the bathroom so we played with him for awhile and put him back in his kennel. We then went to the hospital I had to pick up my gallstones that I had waiting for me in the lab anyways so we went up to see P. She was doing fine they were sending her home in a few hours so her little bun is staying in its oven for a little bit longer I guess. She is only 34 weeks along so its a good thing. But that baby is coming out sonner then later and we can't wait to meet him. Its so exciting Carter is going to have another baby friend.

Here is a picture of Jake, P and Puggy. I was going to try and get one of Puggy and Carter but puggy was too wild to be around Carter today!

Funny little note about Carter's baby friends. Jim (Daddy) has two bestfriends Andy and Jake. (Jake was the bestman in our wedding and Andy a gromsman) Anyways. Jim and I met through Andy, he was dating my cousin Amber and thats how we met. Jim and I were married less then 8 months after we met. Amber and Andy are still together and Amber and I were pregnant at the same time. Charlie Amber and Andy little girl is 4 months older then Carter. Now Jake and P were not trying but they also got pregnant at the same time, there little boy will be 4-5 months younger then Carter. It is so much fun with our two bestfriends having babies at the same time as us and I can't wait for them to all grow up and be bestfriends. Andy and Jake use to be really good friends too but some drama and stupid stuff happened and they are no longer good friends, they are finally to the point where they can be at our house together at the same time and actually get along, which is good. It really tore Jim up being really good friends with both of them when they both couldn't stand each other.

Wow I totally got off topic. So we left the hospital and started for the shop (Bighley Auto Body) our family owned bussiness were almost the whole family works. So Carter cries all the way there and I had to stop at the movie theater to feed him before we got there. We got there and seen daddy working, (not much fun) but we went in to the office were Carter 2 aunts were hanging out. Carter is the 1st baby in the family so he gets really spoiled on by his 3 aunts. They played with him for awhile and we went out and see Grandpa in the shop and his uncle Mike. All he missed today was his Grandma and aunt Becky. No worries though we will see them all on Sunday.

We left the shop and Carter cried for about 20 mins and finally fell asleep in his seat. We got home and my mom called and told me my uncle Bill is flying in tomorrow and will be stoping in to see our new house and Carter whom he has not met yet. We just bough our 1st home 2 months ago and he wasn't to see it, so we will have an exciting day tomorrow too.

Carter played all night and went down at 9 pm I think this is the 4th night in a row. I hate to jinx it but I think we finally have him down to a normal sleeping pattern at night. Naps during the day thats a whole nother story.

One super exciting thing that happened today is I found my camera. It has been missing for 3 weeks now. It is only 2 months old and I though I had lost it. I was totally bummed and even bough a new camera yesterday to replace it. But today I was going to grab my new camera out of Carters diaper bag where I had put it earlier in the day and my old camera was in the same spot. Now I know I looked over his diaper bag a million times and had not found it there before. This diaper bag has a million and one little compartments in it and it drives me nuts. But I am glad I found it. Since I can't return the new one my mom got a bran new digital camera today. Anyways here is a super duper diaper bag that has way too many compartments!
